Xu replaces Sun Jiakang 'due to reallocation of duties' to COSCO Container Lines, which is owned by China COSCO Holdings, 50 percent shareholders of COSCO Pacific.
Xu joined the COSCO Group in 1980 and has served as a captain on COSCO's ocean vessels and general manager of its container division among other senior roles. He is also a director of COSCO (Hong Kong) Group Ltd.
