Yang Ming establishes subsidiary in Panama

The Taiwan-based ocean carrier has set up a regional center in Panama to serve and centralize services in Central and South America.    Taiwanese ocean carrier Yang Ming Marine Transport has established a subsidiary in Panama Thursday, dubbed Yang Ming (Latin American) Corp., to conduct the “Central and South America Regional Center,” the company said.
   The center is responsible for managing Yang Ming’s network of agencies and centralizing pricing, operations, equipment control and slot and feeder arrangements in Panama City.
   Through the relocation of the management frame, Yang Ming expects to gradually expand the market share and the business scale in this region and to reduce the operation costs significantly.
   The subsidiary will enable a more comprehensive logistics network and reinforce operations for import, export and transshipment cargo in Central and South America, the company said.
