Yang Ming-Hanjin to start Asia/PNW loop

Yang Ming-Hanjin to start Asia/PNW loop    Yang Ming and Hanjin Shipping will start a new transpacific service connecting Asia and the Pacific Northwest on April 22, the South Korean container line said Wednesday.
   The service, which Yang Ming calls PNW and Hanjin calls PNY, will have a rotation of Hong Kong, Yantian, Kaohsiung, Tacoma, Vancouver, Busan and Hong Kong. It will operate with five 4,300-TEU vessels, four from Yang Ming and one from Hanjin.
   The two carriers are partners in the CKYH Alliance along with COSCO Container Lines and 'K' Line. It's not immediately clear if the other members will take slots on the service. The CKYH carriers run five services connecting China with the Pacific Northwest ports of Tacoma, Seattle, and Vancouver, according to American Shipper affiliate ComPair Data.
