YANGMING STARTS BUILDING KAOHSIUNG LOGISTICS SITE

YANGMING STARTS BUILDING KAOHSIUNG LOGISTICS SITE

Yangming Marine Transport Corp. has started to construct a joint logistics facility with the Kaohsiung Port Authority in the port of Kaohsiung, Taiwan.

The Global Logistics Center will be located at the back of the third container center of Kaohsiung Harbor.

Yangming said the initiative is a response to the Taiwanese government’s policy of making Taiwan into a global transshipment center, and to broaden the company’s logistics services.

The 3.5-hectare logistics facility will have a six-floor electronics commercial office building and two-floor warehouse with an automatic storage retrieval system. It will be equipped with a global logistics system, including order management, warehouse management, cargo management, online cargo tracing, multicountry distribution, multicountry consolidation and barcoding.

The total investment in the logistics center is estimated at NT$ 300 million ($9 million) and the facility will be operational by the end of this year.
