Yellow taps Zimmerman to head USF Holland

Yellow taps Zimmerman to head USF Holland    Yellow Roadway Corp. named Bob Zimmerman president of USF Holland, effective June 27, following its May acquisition of Chicago-based USF Corp. for $1.37 billion.
   Zimmerman served as senior vice president, field operations and sales, at Yellow Transportation, one of two major motor carriers owned by Yellow Roadway. He helped the giant less-than-truckload carrier develop second-day and next-day service.
   USF, a regional carrier that serves 22 states in the Midwest and Southeast, will operate as part of the YRC Regional Transportation subsidiary that includes next-day express carrier New Penn Motor Express.
   Yellow Roadway has yet to indicate who will lead USF’s four other trucking companies.
