Yowell, Old DominionÆs COO, dies
John B. Yowell, Old Dominion Freight Line’s executive vice president and chief operating officer, died on Dec. 30.
Details of his death were not made available by the Thomasville, N.C.-based less-than-trailerload carrier.
Yowell was a 27-year employee of Old Dominion and served in his most recent position since January 2008. He also held senior positions in a number of operations areas throughout the company.
‘We mourn his passing and will miss his dedication, his expertise and the bond of friendship he had with each of our employees,’ said David S. Congdon, Old Dominion’s president and chief executive officer, in a statement.
