Yunta heads Crowley’s broker operations

   Crowley Maritime Corp. has named Nelly Yunta vice president of U.S. imports, customs brokerage and consulting, for Customized Brokers.
   Customized Brokers is Crowley’s customs brokerage company in Miami, where Yunta is based. She reports to Crowley’s Steve Collar, senior vice president and general manager of logistics.
   Yunta joined Crowley in 1988 as a senior coordinator in the Miami traffic department. She was named regional sales manager in 1998 and general manager of the Dominican Republic and Haiti in 2006. In 2009 she was appointed to general manager for Customized Brokers, which was started in 1989.
   Crowley also said on Monday it has brought together its customs brokerage services and subsidiary Customized Brokers. Both staffs will now operate together from a joint office in Miami.
   “Together Crowley and Customized Brokers are now an even more comprehensive one-stop shop for international trade customers,” Collar said. “By offering company-wide compliance, clearance and consulting services through a single team of experienced logistics professionals, we can better meet the varied needs of our customers.”
   Chris Bustamante, Crowley’s manager of customs compliance and consulting, will report to Yunta.
