Zepol: 2011 positive for most U.S. ports

Most of the top U.S. ports had positive import volume growth from 2010 to 2011, according to the trade intelligence company Zepol Corp.
In its newly release 2011 U.S. Port Report, Zepol said 18 of the top 20 ports grew their import throughput last year. The report details port activity for the top 20 U.S. ports for 2011, with profiles on recent trends, key importers, and top carriers.
The report also showed that China is the top country of origin for three-quarters of the 20 ports, while the Port of Jacksonville posted the largest percent increase in inbound TEUs, rising more than 25 percent in the last year.
