Zepol report details U.S. wood imports    Zepol Corp., a Minneapolis-based trade intelligence company, released a report Tuesday outlining recent import trends for the continuously shaped wood segment of the U.S. wood industry.
   The report provides detailed information on wood imports in late 2009 and the first part of 2010, and looks at potential future developments. Several key insights from the report include:
   ' Brazil is the United States’ top supplier for wood products in U.S. Harmonized Tariff Schedule 4409, with $238,155,180 exported over August 2009 to July 2010 — a 16.6 percent increase over the previous year.
   ' Canada dominates the United States’ supply of red cedar siding (HTS 4409.10.1020 and HTS 4409.10.1060), with 95 percent and 100 percent market share, respectively, from August 2009 to July 2010.
   ' July was a big month for U.S. wood imports across the board, with several HTS product categories posting their high for the year in this month.
   The report breaks down import information for each HTS code within the continuously shaped wood category. It also lists the top exporting countries to the United States, the top U.S. receiving ports, and details the key shippers and consignees in the U.S. wood industry.
