ZF BATAVIA NAMES RYDER LEAD LOGISTICS PROVIDER

   ZF Batavia, a joint venture of Ford Motor Co. and ZF Friedrichshafen, a provider of auto transmissions and steering systems in Germany, has awarded a multiyear contract for logistics services to Ryder Systems, based in Miami.

   The deal calls for Ryder to act as lead logistics provider for ZF Batavia, managing shipments of all inbound materials from 300 suppliers.

   ZF Batavia manufactures four-speed automatic transmissions for the Ford Escape, Mercury Cougar, Mazda 626 and European Mondeo auto brands.
