ZHANG IS APPOINTED MANAGING DIRECTOR OF COSCO BULK CARRIER

   Captain Zhang Liang has been appointed managing director of COSCO Bulk Carrier, the world’s largest specialized bulk shipping company.
    Zhang had been deputy managing director of the Tianjin-based company since November 1998.
    Previously, he had been marine superintendent, manager of the personnel division, general manager assistant and deputy general manager of Tianjin Ocean Shipping Co., a company which later merged into COSCO Bulk Carrier.
    COSCO Bulk Carrier – or Cosbulk – owns over 80 bulk carriers of all types with the total deadweight tonnage of 4.8 millions tons.
    The appointment of Zhang by the China Ocean Shipping Co. group is the second major management change within the major shipping subsidiaries of the group in recent weeks. Xu Lirong was named head of COSCO Container Lines last month.
