Zim adding Genoa call

ZIM said it will add a call at the port of Genoa to the rotation of ships is its ZCS service. Ships will continue to call Livorno, as well.

   “This upgrade is intended to respond to the Northwest Italian market demand, and to offer improved, reliable and direct service between Italy and U.S. East and West coasts,” the company said.

   The ZCS service deploys 15 ships with capacities of 5,000 TEUs in the weekly service.

   Port rotation is Haifa, Livorno, Genoa, Barcelona, Halifax, New York, Savannah, Kingston, Los Angeles, Oakland, Ningbo, Shekou, Hong Kong, Keelung, Balboa, Kingston, Savannah, New York, Halifax, Barcelona and Haifa.

   The first vessel scheduled to call Genoa is the ZIM Beijing, on Sept. 17.
