Zim adds 2nd Da Chan call on Asia-Med loop

   A Zim Asia-Mediterranean service has added an eastbound call at Da Chan Bay, one of the terminal complexes that make up the Port of Shenzhen.
   Zim’s standalone EMX service will now call Da Chan Bay in both directions, Da Chan Bay officials said Tuesday.
   The service has a revised rotation of Busan, Shanghai, Ningbo, Da Chan Bay, Port Kelang, Suez Canal, Haifa, Ambarli-ist, Odessa, Novorossiysk, Ambarli-ist, Haifa, Suez Canal, Colombo, Port Kelang, Da Chan Bay, and Busan.
   According to American Shipper affiliate ComPair Data, the service is operated with nine vessels with an average capacity of 4,167 TEUs. In late July China Shipping withdrew from the service as a slot buyer, while Zim removed one vessel and dropped calls in Istanbul (Gemlik) and Mundra. – Eric Johnson
