Zim adds Russian port to pendulum    The container line Zim is adding a call at the Russian port of Vostochniy to its the westbound leg of its ZCS service, according to research from American Shipper affiliate ComPair Data.
   The ZCS is currently Zim's pendulum service connecting Europe, the U.S. west and east coasts, and the Far East. But the service is due to split into two legs in early August. Schedule research by ComPair Data confirms the line will call Vostochniy as of early July on the Pacific leg, with the call at Vostochniy, located on Russia's east coast, set between calls at Oakland and Ningbo.
   The service has a current rotation of Haifa, Piraeus, Livorno, Genoa, Tarragona, Halifax, New York/New Jersey, Savannah, Kingston, Los Angeles, Oakland, Ningbo, Shanghai, Busan, Da Chan Bay, Hong Kong, Balboa, Kingston, Savannah, New York/New Jersey, Halifax, Tarrangona, and Haifa. When it splits into two separate loops in August, calls at Livorno will be dropped as will calls at Halifax on the Atlantic leg.
   The service is currently operated with 15 Zim vessels, with an average capacity of 4,756 TEUs. China Shipping takes slots.
   According to ComPair Data, Vostochniy isn’t currently directly connected to any ports in North America or Europe. It’s connected to China by three feeders offered by FESCO and CMA CGM.
