Zim changes port rotation on South America service

Zim changes port rotation on South America service Israel-based ocean carrier Zim Integrated Shipping has made two changes to its South America services, the company said Monday.
   Zim's South America Express Service (SAX) will now call Puerto Cabello in Venezuela directly after Kingston, Jamaica, as its second port on its southbound voyage in order to better serve cargoes bound to Venezuela.
   The new Zim SAX port rotation is Kingston, Puerto Cabello, Vitoria, Rio Grande, Navegantes, Santos, Fortaleza, La Guaira, Kingston.
   Kingston is a hub port for Zim, where the SAX service connects with the ZCS tricontinental service, the AGX Asia-Gulf service and with the NCX North Europe service, as well as with several intra-Caribbean and Central American regional services.
   Meanwhile, Zim's River Plate Express (RPX) now offers a Zim dedicated weekly feeder vessel to better serve exporters and importers from and to Argentina, Uruguay and Brazil.
   The Pampero, with a 512-TEU capacity, will be calling Rio Grande every Friday, Montevideo every Monday, and Buenos Aires every Wednesday, then again at Rio Grande, where it connects with the SAX service. The first calls of this new connecting service will be April 21 in Montevideo, April 23 in Buenos Aires and April 25 in Rio Grande.
