Zim, Evergreen lines add Rotterdam, Charleston to transatlantic loop
Zim Integrated Shipping Services Ltd., Evergreen Marine and its subsidiary Italia Marittima SpA are adding calls to Rotterdam in the Netherlands and Charleston, S.C. to their joint weekly North Europe East Coast Express service.
The service, which started in August, is marketed by Zim as NEX and the Evergreen Group carriers as NEC.
The vessel 'Marseille Star' will make the first call at Rotterdam on Jan. 10 before arriving in Charleston on Jan. 24.
The service uses four ships averaging 2,450 TEUs and will have a revised port rotation of Antwerp, Hamburg, Rotterdam, Liverpool, New York, Norfolk, Charleston, Savannah and back to Antwerp.
