Zim invests in Chinese container factory
Zim Integrated Shipping Services has invested $100 million in a container plant in Qingdao, China, called CXIC Star Container Co. Ltd.
Zim will hold a 55 percent share in the plant together with local companies, CXIC Group, Jiaoyun Group and Qingdao Luhai. The project will have an annual capacity of 150,000 TEUS and the annual turnover will be $250 million.
This is Zim’s largest project in China, following several successful CFS investments in Tianjin, Qingdao, Xiamen and Shanghai.
