ZIM puts QR code on bill of lading

The code is intended to enable quick access to bill of lading details with time savings and reduced errors from the re-typing of information.    The liner carrier ZIM has begun including a QR code starting on its bills of lading, the carrier said Thursday.
   The new feature enables immediate recognition of the bill of lading details by any smartphone or tablet application, and it links automatically to the bill’s tracing details on ZIM’s website.
   ZIM said the new feature is intended to help customers save time and avoid typing errors.
