Zim raises Asia/Europe bunker surcharge
Israeli carrier Zim said Thursday it will increase its emergency bunker surcharge on services from Asia and the Indian Subcontinent to all parts of Asia by $140 per TEU.
The increase is effective Aug. 1 and will be reviewed on a monthly basis, the carrier said.
It's the second surcharge announcement this week in the Asia/Europe westbound trade for Zim. On Tuesday, the carrier said it was introducing a peak season surcharge of $175 per TEU from Aug. 1 to Oct. 31.
