Zim receives 10,000-TEU ship

Zim Integrated Shipping Services said Thursday it has received its largest vessel ever, the Zim Djibouti.

The 10,062-TEU containership was delivered one week after the company received its first “mega vessel,” the 8,400-TEU Zim Los Angeles. Both vessels will serve in partnership with the Grand Alliance serving the Pacific Northwest Service (PNX) loop from East Asia to the U.S. and Canadian West Coast. The ship has the ability to carry 800 40-foot reefer boxes.

The 10,000-TEU Zim Djibouti is Zim's largest vessel, twice the size of its current flag ship.
