ZIM unveils new transpacific ZPN loop

The Israeli ocean carrier said the ZIM Pacific North service will launch in April, subject to approval by the Federal Maritime Commission.

Israeli ocean carrier ZIM unveiled a new Asia-Pacific Northwest service, dubbed the ZIM Pacific North (ZPN), which is scheduled to launch in April, subject to approval by the Federal Maritime Commission.
The ZPN will have a rotation of Hong Kong, Yantian, Kaohsiung, Shanghai, Pusan, Tacoma, Vancouver (Canada), Pusan, Kwangyang, Kaohsiung and back to Hong Kong.
When reached for comment, a ZIM spokesman told American Shipper that it will partner with another carrier on the ZPN, but would not specify on how many vessels will operate on the loop or the size of the vessels that will be deployed on the loop.
In addition to the ZPN, ZIM will also offer the new ZIM North Pacific (ZNP) as announced last month, which is also scheduled to launch in April. Both services join the carrier’s two pre-existing transpacific network services, the ZIM Container Service Pacific (ZCP) and the ZIM Seven Star Service (Z7S).
