Matson has named Keoni Wagner director of corporate communications. He succeeds Jeff Hull, who is retiring from liner carrier after 33 years. Wagner most recently served as public information officer and spokesman for Oakland International Airport, and prior to that he was vice president of public affairs at Hawaiian Airlines.
Bradd Skinner has become the assistant director for trade operations in the Laredo regional office of U.S. Customs and Border Protection.
Skinner served for five years as direction of the agency’s Customs-Trade Partnership Against Terrorism program aimed at validating the supply chain security of volunteer companies so that they can get easier import clearance and the agency can devote inspection resources to more high-risk cargo.
He began his 29-year career as an import specialist and has also been a deputy attaché in Mexico City, as well as a Department of Homeland Security attaché to Canada, helping the U.S. embassies with border security, trade and travel initiatives.
As the Laredo sector trade director, Skinner will oversee trade operations, including processing of commercial trucks, trains and planes, as well as entry and import specialists at eight ports of entry from Brownsville to Del Rio, Texas. This also includes oversight of the Machinery Center of Excellence and Expertise in Laredo. More than $162 billion worth of goods annually come through ports of entry in the Laredo sector.
