Maersk Line, Ltd. reveals leadership change

William E. (Bill) Woodhour became president of Maersk Line, Ltd. (MLL) July 1 and will eventually become chief executive officer of the company, taking over from Russ Bruner, who has been president and CEO of MLL since 2014.

   Maersk Line, Limited (MLL), the U.S.-flag arm of Maersk Line, has announced a leadership change.
   William E.(Bill) Woodhour became president of MLL on July 1 and will eventually become chief executive officer of the company, taking over from Russ Bruner, who has been president and CEO of MLL since 2014, the company said.
   Woodhour has spent the majority of his 25-year career with Maersk, Inc. at is office in Madison, N.J., taking on various roles including sales, marketing and line management.
   The last several years, Woodhour has been working as a vice president for Maersk Line at its headquarters in Copenhagen.
   “Bill Woodhour and Russ Bruner have begun the work of transitioning Russ Bruner’s responsibilities with the plan to turn over full responsibility to Bill Woodhour later this year,” the company said.
   MLL is headquartered in Virginia with offices in Norfolk and Reston, providing U.S.-flag transportation and ship management to government and commercial customers.
   With the largest U.S.-flag fleet in international commercial service, MLL employs approximately 3,500 U.S. mariners annually.
   MLL’s work encompasses both U.S.-flag transportation services where it offers end-to-end distribution of U.S. government cargo, including military cargo and humanitarian aid, as well as marine management where it operates non-combatant ships for the U.S. government and charters tankers.
   The Farrell Lines subsidiary of MLL transports cargo for the U.S. military using pure car truck carriers.
