Executive Moves: Crowley, WCI, Cambridge Systematics, SMARTRAC and Sedex Global

Crowley appoints IT VP and WCI hires government relations direction, while Cambridge Systematics, SMARTRAC and Sedex Global name senior executives.    Brad Brown has been promoted to vice president of information technology at Crowley Maritime. He will be responsible for the teams managing network infrastructure and operations, end-user support, voice and data communications, technology sourcing and delivery, information security, process engineering and business solutions. Brown joined Crowley in 2001.

   Waterways Council, Inc. has named Tracy R. Zea director of government relations, effective Aug. 4. Before joining WCI, he served on the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee for five years, and also worked for Sen. John Thune, R-S.D.

   Peter Ellis will join Cambridge Systematics as executive vice president for transportation planning and management, effective Aug. 3. He replaces Steven Pickrell, who announced in early March that he would step down from the role to focus on client project work. Most recently, Ellis worked at the Clinton Health Access Initiative.

   SMARTRAC has appointed Goetz Moeller chief financial officer. He takes over from Christian Uhl, who became the company’s chief executive officer in November.

   Sedex Global has named Jonathan Ivelaw-Chapman as chief executive officer, effective Sept. 1. He has served on the organization’s board since 2013. Companies he has worked with include SAP, Centrica, Deutsche Telekom, Glaxo SmithKline (GSK), Rexam, T-Systems, Ebiquity Plc and, more recently, EMCOR Group Plc and Sedex Group as an independent non-executive director for technology.
