Executive Moves: Echo Global Logistics and Alliance Shippers

Echo Global Logistics appoints new VP of marketing, while Alliance Shippers names VP for Ohio Valley region.    Echo Global Logistics has appointed Christopher N. Clemmensen senior vice president of marketing. He comes to Echo with nearly 25 years of industry experience. From 1999 to 2001, Clemmensen served as vice president of marketing at YesMail, where he worked with current Echo President and Chief Operating Officer David Menzel. He led marketing efforts throughout YesMail’s IPO and $520 million acquisition by CMGI in 2000. Clemmensen’s prior experience includes management roles at Kraft and S.C. Johnson & Sons.

   Alliance Shippers has named Rick Plieninger regional vice president for the Ohio Valley region, based in Cincinnati. A 30-year transportation and logistics industry veteran, Plieninger was most recently Alliance’s vice president of sales.
