Maryland Port Administration appoints director of harbor development, North Carolina State Ports Authority picks new CFO and Port of New York and New Jersey names interim general counsel, while Ryder System, Inc. names chief sales officer.    The Maryland Port Administration has named Christina E. Correale director of harbor development. Prior to this appointment, she was a principal at EcoLogix Group for the past five years, serving as a senior advisor to the MPA on dredged material management projects. She previously was chief of the Army Corps of Engineers’ Baltimore District Operations Division, where she oversaw all aspects of its navigation program, including Baltimore Harbor and its channels operations and maintenance.

Alherd Kazura has been appointed the North Carolina State Ports Authority’s chief financial officer. Prior to this appointment, Kazura, a 30-year shipping industry veteran, served as senior vice president of corporate business development at Horizon Lines.

The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey has picked Richard J. Holwell – a former federal judge with nearly 45 years of experience in the legal profession – as its interim general counsel. Holwell will serve in this role until a permanent successor to former Port Authority General Counsel Darrell Buchbinder, who retired recently after more than 35 years of service, is found. In addition to serving as interim general counsel, Judge Holwell will maintain his legal practice as co-founder and partner at Holwell Shuster & Goldberg.

Ryder System, Inc. has promoted John Gleason to executive vice president and chief sales officer and integrated all of Ryder’s sales functions under his leadership. Gleason has been serving as senior vice president of sales for Ryder’s Fleet Management Solutions business segment. Now sales teams for FMS, Dedicated Transportation Solutions and Supply Chain Solutions will report to him. He joined Ryder in 2009 and succeeded in increase leased fleet growth by more than 11,000 units during the past four years and helped lead collaborative sales efforts that resulted in significant increases in Dedicated sales, according to the company.
