Executive Moves: Norfolk Southern, SynchroNet and Alliance Shippers

Norfolk Southern’s chief legal officer retires, while SynchroNet Intermodal Services names DoorLogistics sales director and Alliance Shippers appoints assistant vice president of sales.    Norfolk Southern Corp. said James A. Hixon, executive vice president of law and corporate relations, and chief legal officer, will retire effective Dec. He joined NS in 1985 as a tax attorney and was first elected as an officer of the company in 1993 when he was named vice president of taxation.
   Hixon’s legal and corporate communications responsibilities will be assumed by William A. Galanko, whom the NS board named senior vice president of law and corporate communications. He joined the company in 1990.
   The NS board also named John M. Scheib vice president of law to replace Galanko in his former role. Since joining NS in 2005, Scheib has held positions of increasing responsibility in the NS law department and currently is general counsel commerce.

   SynchroNet Intermodal Services(SIS) Dwight Weber, director of sales for North America domestic services, has taken over day-to-day operations of the DoorLogistics service. Weber joined SIS in May 2015. Before that, he was chief operating officer of Trans Border Intermodal.

   Alliance Shippers has named Jorge Pimentel assistant vice president of sales. He most recently managed and developed domestic and international sales teams for FEMSA Logistica, the largest public bottler of Coca-Cola products in the world. Before that, he handled industrial sales in the northeast region of Mexico.
