Just 3½ years after purchasing its first International LT Series on-highway tractor, J.B. Hunt Transport Services Inc. took delivery of its 5,000th, Navistar International Corp. said Tuesday.
J.B. Hunt (NYSE: JBHT) has more LT Series vehicles in its fleet than any other company in the general freight segment, Navistar (NYSE: NAV) said. The Lisle, Illinois-based truck and bus maker has delivered tens of thousands of vehicles to J.B. Hunt over decades of working together.
J.B. Hunt drivers were among hundreds who contributed to a new ergonomic interior of the LT Series. They also suggested advancements to support improved driver safety, productivity, fuel efficiency and uptime.
“Safety and sustainability are ingrained in the J.B. Hunt culture,” J.B. Hunt President and CEO John Roberts said in a press release. “We look forward to continuing our collaboration to develop enhancements that improve the driver experience and the efficiency of our fleet.”
By its decal, this LT Series will be known
The LT Series is built at Navistar’s plant in Escobedo, Mexico. The cab of the 5,000th LT Series displays a commemorative decal. Navistar also commissioned a custom piece of artwork to honor J.B. Hunt and celebrate the relationship between the two companies.
