Redwood Logistics celebrates GivingTuesday

This year, Redwood Logistics and its employees announced they donated over $100,000 to front-line workers through the company’s #HeroChallenge and $5,000 to the Dress for Success organization, supporting women’s empowerment.

“Giving back to the community has always been central to Redwood Logistics,” the company told FreightWaves. On Tuesday, Redwood Logistics released a statement about its fundraising efforts to honor GivingTuesday.

Redwood announced $5,000 was raised during the company’s Women in Logistics Powering Through the End of 2020 virtual webinar that took place on Nov. 12. At the event, female logistics industry leaders discussed challenges brought by the pandemic and how to succeed into the future. The money raised during this event was donated to Dress for Success, a not-for-profit organization that “empowers women to achieve economic independence by providing a network of support, professional attire and the development tools to help women thrive in work and in life.” Redwood Logistics chose to support this organization because COVID-19 is causing one in four women to consider downshifting or leaving their careers, according to Redwood’s website.

GivingTuesday is meant to provide companies and individuals a collective opportunity to give to organizations and causes that they support on the Tuesday following Thanksgiving each year. “Redwood looks forward to its annual contributions and steadily raising the bar and contributing to its communities,” the company commented.
