CBP cancels meeting in honor of President Bush

The Commercial Customs Operations Advisory Committee was set to meet Wednesday, when the government will be closed in observance of George H.W. Bush’s death.

A meeting of the Commercial Customs Operations Advisory Committee (COAC), which had been scheduled for Wednesday in Herndon, Va., was canceled by U.S. Customs and Border Protection.
CBP headquarters, along with the rest of the federal government, in Washington, D.C.., will be closed that day in honor of former President George H.W. Bush, who died late Friday at the age of 94.
The CBP industry advisory panel meets quarterly, usually alternating between Washington, D.C., and a city located at a CBP port of entry.
CBP has not yet released any further details on whether Wednesdays COAC meeting will be rescheduled.
