DB Schenker expands Russia service

   DB Schenker Logistics has expanded its European land transport service to Russia via Berlin, Krakow, Riga and Helsinki.
   These new gateways are linked with the rest of DB Schenker’s European network and its hubs and allow additional transport to St. Petersburg and Moscow.
   “Our 22 locations, our own national distribution network with regular-interval traffic and over 800 staff members make us the market leader in Russia,” Karl Nutzinger, member of the Schenker AG management board responsible for land transport at DB Schenker, said.
   About 10,000 customers in Europe are currently being approached about the new services.
   The new services being offered for Eastern Europe by DB Schenker also include short-sea shipping and intermodal transport via Riga, where the third-party logistics provider has a transshipment terminal to connect to Russian broad rail gauge.
