FMC reviews 15 OTI license applications

Individuals knowing of a reason why an applicant should not receive a license should contact the Office of Transportation Intermediaries.    The U.S. Federal Maritime Commission has received 15 ocean transportation intermediary (OTI) license applications and changes for review.
   The FMC received non-vessel-operating common carrier license applications from Ileana Mendigutia, Miami (Ileana Mendigutia, sole proprietor); Romcrest, Cape Coral, Fla. (Anton Samoila, member); and Silicon Valley Venture Capital Corp., Milpitas, Calif. (Christopher I. Hurcombe, senior vice president of freight forwarding).
   The agency received NVO/ocean freight forwarder license applications from AFG Global Shipper, Irvington, N.J. (Ahmad Habibi, member); Avrio Logistics, Lyndhurst, N.J. (Carmelo Calabro, vice president of ocean carrier operations); Global Freight Genius Corp., Brooklyn, N.Y. (Wing “Simon” K. Leung, president); Infinity Global Xpress, Sumner, Iowa (Giacoma M. D’Ambrosio, member); and RG Log Corp., Miami (Orestes Romero, president).
   The FMC also received an ocean freight forwarder license application from Morgan Port Services, Jonesboro, Ga. (Robert Morgan, member).
   In addition, the agency received license applications for changes to qualifying individuals from Fordpointer Shipping (L.A.), Diamond Bar, Calif. (Yvonne Kao, president); Kase Logistics North America, Doral, Fla. (Marcelo R. Pose, member); Nippon Concept America, The Woodlands, Texas (Duane R. Sobczak, special manager); Pacific Ocean Ship Management Co., San Francisco (Joel S. Zaves, CEO); Prime Van Lines, Paterson, N.J. (Amir Bendavid, CEO); and XYZ Global Express Corp., Downey, Calif. (Adrian N. Uy, chief operating officer).
   Persons knowing of any reason why an applicant should not receive an OTI license or amendment are urged to contact the FMC’s Office of Transportation Intermediaries in Washington, D.C. Lists of licensed OTIs (applications approved, bonds in place and fully licensed) — both ocean freight forwarders and NVOs — also are available on the FMC website.
