Recognizing truckload’s safety stars

TCA accepting nominations for its Safety Professional of the Year award

In this time of coronavirus, it is increasingly clear that everyday heroes are all around us. This not only includes the healthcare workers and scientists working towards a cure, but also our truck drivers delivering much-needed supplies to the hardest hit communities.

Yet we should not forget about another critical job which is often underappreciated for its role in keeping all of us safe – especially when the expedient movement of freight across the country is at its utmost importance.

We are referring to the men and women who work each day to keep our truck drivers accident-free. The truckload industry’s safety professionals work tirelessly to implement the regulations set forth by federal and state governments. During this tumultuous time, they are working to interpret the various waivers and exemptions that have been put forth while still maintaining a high level of safety in the process of utilizing them.

Right now, the Truckload Carriers Association (TCA) is soliciting nominations for the TCA Safety Professional of the Year – Clare C. Casey Award.

For the past 30 years, TCA has used this award to recognize a person whose actions and achievements have made a profound impact on improving safety on our highways. However, this year, the need to bring good news and shed light on the hard work of professionals in our industry has never been more important.

Do you know someone who is going above and beyond to advance safety in the trucking community? Is it you? Nominate yourself or another industry professional for the 2020 TCA Safety Professional of the Year – Clare C. Casey Award. Nominations are being accepted until May 1, so don’t delay.

We will all get through this crisis together, so let’s not neglect to give credit where credit is due.
