Roadrunner Transportation Systems Inc. (OTC: RRTS) will spin off its Ascent Global Logistics business as it continues to revamp its operations. The move should allow each business segment to tailor solutions specific to their businesses, the company said.

Arbitration win for carriers
A New Jersey court has ruled arbitration agreements signed by transportation workers are enforceable in the state, despite a federal arbitration rule to the contrary. It is considered a big win for employers, who would rather fight employment disputes through arbitration than in the courts.

A helping (robotic) hand
A robot from RightHand Robotics and Intel RealSense Technologies has been designed to replace human workers in picking e-commerce goods at the warehouse. The companies believe the robot can select items quicker and at less cost.
