MSC Group hires executive vice president of maritime policy and government affairs, while Huntington Ingalls Industries appoints vice president of strategic sourcing at the company’s Newport News Shipbuilding division.

   MSC Group has hired Bud Darr as executive vice president, maritime policy and government affairs, effective July 1. Darr has over 25 years of experience in the international maritime field, and was most recently senior vice president of technical and regulatory affairs for the Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA). Prior to joining CLIA, he held several positions with the U.S. Coast Guard, including that of deputy chief of maritime and international law.

   Huntington Ingalls Industries has appointed John Temple vice president of strategic sourcing at the company’s Newport News Shipbuilding division. Temple is an apprentice school graduate who began his shipbuilding career in Newport News’ pipe department. Most recently, he was vice president of contracts and supply chain management at the Savannah River site in South Carolina, a Department of Energy site that Newport News Shipbuilding manages as part of a joint venture.
