Executive Moves: Crane Worldwide, OSG and Wilhelmsen Ships Service

Crane Worldwide Logistics hires regional sales manager for its U.S. West region, while Overseas Shipholding Group names new president and CEO and Wilhelmsen Ships Service appoints general manager for Wilhelmsen Huayang Ships Services China.    Crane Worldwide Logistics has hired Rick Underwood as regional sales manager for its U.S. West region. Based in San Francisco, Underwood will be responsible for assisting the company’s sales operations in California, Arizona, Oregon, Washington, Colorado and Canada.
He joins Crane Worldwide after previous stints in the sales and operations departments at Yusen Logistics.

Jones Act tanker operator Overseas Shipholding Group has named Samuel H. Norton president and chief executive officer, effective Dec. 29, 2016. He succeeds current President and CEO Ian T. Blackley, who is retiring from the position.
A 25-year shipping veteran, Norton has served as senior vice president of OSG and president and CEO of its U.S. Flag Strategic Business Unit since July 2016, and a member of the company’s board of directors since August 2014.
In addition, OSG appointed Patrick J. O’Halloran as VP and chief operations officer, responsible for oversight of all operations, maintenance, SQE and commercial operations for the company’s fleet, and Damon Mote as VP and chief administrative officer, overseeing marine labor relations, human resources, and insurance.

Wilhelmsen Ships Service has promoted Michael Chen to the role of general manager for Wilhelmsen Huayang Ships Services China (WHSS). Chen, who joined the Wilhelmsen group as a vessel operator in 2005 and has been working as agency service manager for China for the past five years, replaces Capt.
