Harris has over 40 years of experience in the railroad industry in an operating capacity. Prior to joining CSX, Harris served as a senior advisor to Global Infrastructure Partners, chairman of Omnitrax Rail Network, and board director for Universal Rail Services. In addition, Harris has consulted recently with Rio Tinto in Australia and Cosan Industries in Brazil. He began his career with Illinois Central Railroad, and held leadership positions at Canadian National after it acquired Illinois Central Railroad. After retiring from CN, he joined Canadian Pacific, where he served as chief operations officer and subsequently joined the CP board.

The Port of Seattle has sworn in two new commissioners, Peter Steinbrueck and Ryan Calkins, and Stephanie Bowman has been re-elected to serve as a commissioner. Courtney Gregoire has been elected to serve as commission president for 2018.

Damco Distribution Services, Inc., the warehouse and distribution arm of Damco in North America, has appointed Bill Peratt to serve as president of Damco Distribution Services, succeeding Nick Taro, who will remain active with Damco Distribution Services in an advisory role over the next two years.
