Schenker AG appoints Seidl as new CFO

Oliver Seidl replaces outgoing Chief Financial Officer Lutz Freytag, who will resign his position Nov. 30 after nine years to “tackle new challenges and dedicate more time to his personal pursuits,” the company said.    The supervisory board of Schenker AG, a logistics subsidiary of German railway operator Deutsche Bahn, has appointed Oliver Seidl as its new chief financial officer, the company said yesterday.
   Seidl replaces outgoing Chief Financial Officer Lutz Freytag, who will resign his position Nov. 30 after nine years to “tackle new challenges and dedicate more time to his personal pursuits.” Schenker said Seidl, currently the CFO of Media-Saturn-Holding in Ingolstadt, will assume his new role at the earliest possible availability.
   Prior to his current position, Seidl held various finance-related management positions, including as a managing director and management board member. From 2010 to 2013, he served as chairman of the management board at Loewe AG, having previously served as the management board member for finance and services.
   “We are bringing a proven expert on board with relevant experience as the CFO of internationally active businesses,” Dr. Richard Lutz, chairman of Schenker’s supervisory board, said of Seidl’s appointment.
   “He will further strengthen the Management Board team with his broad knowledge and personal qualities,” added CEO Jochen Thewes.
   Thewes also praised Freytag, whom he said was been highly influential in the development of Schenker AG over the last nine years as CFO.
