TRAXENS’ technology transforms standard containers into smart, connected objects by collecting real-time data throughout the container’s transport.
The TRAXENS-equipped smart containers will use built-in relay antennas to communicate among themselves and to the vessel’s communication infrastructure. Collected data will then be sent to CMA CGM’s headquarters via TRAXENS’ data centers, the French ocean carrier said in a statement.
Data collected includes location, temperature, humidity level, vibrations, impacts, attempted burglary, customs clearance status and more.
In addition, the technology can remotely control and adjust the temperature of refrigerated containers.
The CMA CGM Bougainville operates on the Ocean3 Alliance’s FAL loop, which has a rotation of Southampton, Dunkirk, Hamburg, Rotterdam, Zeebrugge, Le Havre, Malta, Khor Fakkan, Yantian, Xingang, Dalian, Busan, Qingdao, Ningbo, Shanghai, Yantian, Port Kelang, Algeciras and Southampton.
