The Greenbrier Companies will transition to new executive leadership in January, with Chief Executive and President Lorie Tekorius set to retire following the company’s 2027 annual shareholders meeting.
Brian Comstock, Greenbrier’s executive vice president and president of The Americas, will immediately become president and CEO.

The Lake Oswego, Ore.-based railcar manufacturer and freight-transportation services provider (NYSE: GBX) said the move is the result of the board’s long-term succession-planning process.
Tekorius’ retirement will become effective Jan. 6, 2027.
Tekorius has spent more than 30 years at Greenbrier, joining the company in 1995 and moving through senior financial and operating roles before becoming president and CEO in 2022. She previously served as chief operating officer and as chief financial officer.

During her tenure as CEO, Greenbrier said it strengthened its commercial position, pursued operational improvements and continued to develop its railcar leasing and services businesses alongside its core railcar design and manufacturing operations. The company serves North American and international markets.
“Under Lorie’s leadership, Greenbrier successfully navigated unique market challenges while strengthening its commercial position, advancing operational excellence and positioning the business for long-term growth,” Board Chair and Independent Director Admiral Thomas B. Fargo, U.S. Navy (Ret.), said in a statement. “She both streamlined the business and made it more profitable.”
Comstock, who has more than 45 years of railroad-industry experience and nearly three decades at Greenbrier, currently oversees the company’s operations in the United States, Canada, Mexico and Brazil.
Before joining Greenbrier in 1998, Comstock held senior operations and commercial posts at Transco Industries, Transco Railway Products and railcar builder Trinity Industries.
“I look forward to working with Lorie through this transition as we continue to advance our strategy and position Greenbrier for long-term success,” Comstock said.
Greenbrier also expects Comstock to succeed Tekorius as a member of its board of directors.
