3 lines partner on Asia/West Africa

China Shipping, 'K' Line and Hapag-Lloyd are to collaborate on a new service between the Far East and West Africa.

'K' Line said the new service would give it better direct connection from Asia to several ports in West Africa, which now are served through transshipment from South Africa.

The service will be operated with eight vessels — China Shipping will provide four, 'K' Line three and Hapag-Lloyd one — with a rotation of Shanghai, Ningbo, Xiamen, Shekou, Port Klang, Durban, Tema, Lome, Cotonou, Tin Can Island, Durban, Port Klang and Shanghai.
