APL port arm leaves Maritime Security Discussion Agreement

Eagle Marine Services has followed APL, Mitsui O.S.K. Lines and Maersk Sealand by leaving the Maritime Security Discussion Agreement, a grouping of ocean carriers, terminal operators and port authorities in the United States that was seeking to agree on common security charges.

Both the terminal operator Eagle Marine Services and the shipping line APL belong to the Neptune Orient Lines group.

According to a filing with the U.S. Federal Maritime Commission, the Maritime Security Discussion Agreement now has 39 members.
