BMW switches terminals at Port of Baltimore

Wallenius Wilhelmsen Logistics to process cars for BMW.

BMW has officially opened a new vehicle distribution center at the Port of Baltimore, which will be operated by Wallenius Wilhelmsen Logistics. The facility will prepare and transport imported BMW cars to 96 dealers in the Midwest and eastern United States, the company said.
BMW has delivered vehicles through Baltimore for several years, sharing terminal space with Mercedes-Benz at the Maryland Port Administration’s Fairfield/Masonville auto terminal. BMW has now moved to WWL’s facility at the Dundalk Marine Terminal.
The auto processing center will handle an estimated 160,000 BMW and Mini imports through 2016. Vehicle inspection, repairs, accessory installation, programming and maintenance will be performed by WWL.
Wallenius Wilhelmsen’s sister company provides ocean carriage for BMW.
