Key Takeaways:

Caribbean Airlines says no monkeys on board    Caribbean Airlines said it would no longer transport primates used for research, joining a growing list of airlines that has taken similar action.
According to the British Union for the Abolition of Vivisection (BUAV), Caribbean Airlines had been a regular transporter of African green monkeys from Barbados to the United States. In recent months the BUAV, along with ARFF (Animal Rights Foundation of Florida), has run a letter-writing campaign for airlines to abandon the practice.
In addition to Caribbean Airlines, other carriers that have stopped transporting primates for research are British Airways, British Midland, United Airlines, Virgin Atlantic, Northwest Airlines, Qantas, South African Airways, American Airlines, Delta Airlines, Eva Air and China Airlines.
'The BUAV will continue its campaign to push for all airlines to prohibit the carriage of primates for this purpose,' said Michelle Thew, the organization's chief executive, in a statement.
