Key Takeaways:

Caricom nations advance common market Trade ministers from Caribbean Community (Caricom) nations have concluded a series of meeting in Georgetown, Guyana aimed at advancing the concept of a Caricom Single Market Economy (CSME).
A statement from Caricom said the talks, which coincided with the 22nd conference of the Council for Trade and Economic Development (COTED), focused on ways to advance free movement policies. The talks were a follow up to a July 2006 meeting in which officials reviewed categories of persons eligible for free movement, such as nurses and teachers that are not university students.
The trade ministers also discussed transportation against the backdrop of a study of critical concerns of shippers, and issues that impact the movement of agricultural goods and other products, both within and beyond Caricom nations.
