China has handled 60,000 IPR cases in five years, official says
An official with China's Fair Trade Bureau said Saturday the country has investigated more than 60,000 intellectual property rights infringement cases since its accession to the World Trade Organization more than five years ago.
Speaking at a trademark conference in Hunan Province, Li Wenzhang, deputy director of the fair trade bureau of the State Administration of Industry and Commerce, said the cases involved goods worth more than $1.4 billion and had helped companies like Estee Lauder, Coca Cola and Anheuser-Busch, the Xinhua news agency reported Sunday.
