Forbes magazine and Statista have recognized FreightWaves as one of America’s Best Startup Employers 2020. FreightWaves is included in the Media & Entertainment category.
Forbes partnered with market research company Statista to identify the up-and-coming companies liked best by their employees in its “inaugural ranking of America’s best startup employers.” The Forbes list features the top 500 startups in America that have created an outstanding culture for their employees. Over 10,000 companies were considered for this award with only 500 receiving the recognition. According to Forbes’ staff, “Appearing on this publication puts FreightWaves in the top 5% of all startup employers in America!”
“On behalf of the FreightWaves family, I am honored that the company was named as one of America’s Best Startup Employers,” stated Craig Fuller, founder and CEO of FreightWaves. “The growth and success to date of FreightWaves is due to the speed of our data and ability to provide context for the freight, transportation and logistics industries – and to the ingenuity and hard work of FreightWaves’ employees. I want to recognize each of them for their dedication and efforts.”
FreightWaves was #196 on the list of top employers.
Other transportation and logistics companies that made the list include MoLo Solutions (63); Airspace Technologies (75); Samsara (96); VeoRide (110); StreetLight Data (115): Aurora (136); Argo AI (184); Vector (219); KeepTruckin (276); Shipwell (315); BacklotCars (339); Ripple (343); Flexport (356); Convoy (372); CharterUp (392); Trident (419); Volta Charging (444); Axle Logistics (455); and Outdoorsy (478).
Forbes and Statista selected America’s Best Startup Employers based on an innovative methodology. Companies had to be headquartered in the U.S. and founded between 2010 and 2017 to be considered. During the fourth quarter of 2019, over seven million data points were collected. In the first step of a gradual approach, organic growth and size were considered to narrow down an initial list of more than 10,000 companies to 2,500 companies that qualified for an in-depth analysis.
The detailed evaluation of 2,500 employers was then undertaken; employer excellence was evaluated in three ways:
- Employee satisfaction: extensive research was conducted on ‘average length of employment,’ ‘employee ratings,’ ‘quantity of ratings’ and ‘online employer reviews.’
- Employer reputation: a measurement of social media success. Company-specific information was algorithmically extracted from social media channels such as news sites, micro-blogs, blogs and social networks.
- Company growth: extensive metric calculations were evaluated including ‘website traffic,’ ‘industry-referenced job openings,’ ‘headcount growth rates’ and ‘funding information.’
The 500 companies receiving the highest total score were awarded “The Best Startup Employers 2020.” Forbes also wrote FreightWaves this message: “Congratulations on building an amazing, award-winning company culture!”
The American startup scene is renowned for its dynamism and innovative drive. To attract the best talent for ensuring growth and performance, startups must compete with other innovative startups and large corporations that possess more spending power.
“FreightWaves will continue to grow and develop products and services for our industry because of the work our employees do daily,” Fuller said. “The company’s success has been their success, and the FreightWaves culture reflects that.”
