BiTA, the world’s largest technology alliance focused on the freight industry, announced the appointment of Mitch Hixon as E.V.P. Member Engagement. In this role, Mitch will be responsible for developing member journeys and ensure they have an opportunity to maximize their value from membership.

“Since day one of launching BiTA, we realized the organization had two primary missions: to develop market standards for digitization of the freight sector; and to educate, encourage, and accelerate commercial outcomes between member organizations in their digital road-maps. Chris Burruss’ efforts over the past year have laid the groundwork for the development of market standards. By bringing Mitch to the team, we aim to create a vibrant community that can apply technology to tackle the challenges that the freight market participants face,” Craig Fuller, Managing Director, BiTA stated.

At the upcoming BiTA meeting in Atlanta, GA, Mitch will be announcing his plans for think-tanks, task forces, and community involvement.

Mitch has been around the transportation industry for nearly forty years, holding positions in both the technology vendor and carrier communities. Most recently, Mitch served as VP of Pegasus TransTech, the market leader in document scanning and post load transaction services. In his tenure, Pegasus grew to manage more than 60% of the electronic post transaction documents in the space, having massive scale in the the transport sector.

Prior to joining Pegasus, Mitch was a J.B. Hunt executive, overseeing the National Accounts group. He began his career as a Maintenance Technician.
