“K” LINE REVISES ASIA/AUSTRALIA LINKS

"K" Line will split its container service from Japan to Southeast Asia and West Australia in mid-September by turning the ships round in Southeast Asia and buying space between Southeast Asia and Australia from another service.
The intra-Asia half of the former 5-ship Japan/Straits/West Australia weekly operation will be replaced by two weekly services, named JASECO-1 Kanto service and JASECO-2 Kansai service.
The JASECO-1 link will call at Tokyo (Tue/Wed), Yokohama (Wed/Wed), Shimizu (Thu/Thu), Manila (Mon/Mon), Jakarta (Fri/Sat), Singapore (Sun/Mon), Pasir Gudang(Mon/Mon), Manila (Thu/Fri) and Tokyo again.
The JASECO-2 rotation will be Yokkaichi (Thu/Thu), Nagoya (Thu/Fri), Osaka (Fri/Sat), Kobe (Sat/Sat), Manila (Wed/Thu), Singapore (Sun/Mon), Port Kelang (Tue/Tue), Pasir Gudang (Wed/Wed), Manila (Sat/Sun) and Yokkaichi again.
"K" Line said that it will join Maersk Line’s Singapore/West Australia service at the end of September. The 2-ship service, named WASCO, calls at Singapore (Fri/Fri), Fremantle (Fri/Sat) and Singapore again. A Jakarta call may be included in the rotation, "K" Line said.
The changes announced by "K" Line follow a rate war in the Asia/Australia container trade.
