Lynden International opens Edmonton office

   Freight forwarder Lynden International has opened a service center at Canada’s Edmonton International Airport to boost its offerings in the Canadian oil and gas fields and strengthen the link between its Canadian and U.S. networks.
   The forwarder has offices across Canada and now has more than 50 locations in North America.
   “We are expanding our long-established truck transportation offerings to include import and export services, freight forwarding, customs brokerage and logistics, and warehousing to support oil patch customers who are taking advantage of the booming oil sands development,” the company’s Rob Clarke said in a statement. “This service center will give new customers greater transportation options and improve service to our existing customers.”
   Early last month, Lynden International named Sergio Lotero as business development manager for Latin America, based in Miami, and Roark Beckstead as business development director in Los Angeles. Both new hires have been working on expanding Lynden’s reach, with Lotero cultivating Central American markets and Beckstead expanding the company’s ocean products. – Jon Ross
